LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Lewisburg woman was arrested early Friday morning after police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance involving a knife.
According to a report from Patrolman Thomas with the Lewisburg Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:30 a.m. after Greenbrier County 911 received a call that a woman armed with a knife was making threats outside an apartment complex.
When officers arrived, they ordered the suspect — later identified as Megan Morgan — to the ground and took her into custody without incident.
The victim told officers that the argument began while she and Morgan were getting their daughters, ages one and nine, ready for daycare. The victim said the dispute started when she dumped out a laundry basket containing both women’s clothes while searching for her child’s Halloween costume. Morgan allegedly became angry, leading to a heated confrontation that escalated when she began striking the victim on the back of the head and neck.
The victim said that when she called 911, Morgan grabbed a knife from the kitchen counter. The victim then gathered the children and fled outside. Police later recovered the knife.
During transport, Morgan told officers she did not intend to use the knife, claiming she only “walked by it” to get Martin to back away.
Both children were present during the altercation. They were later released to a family member, and Child Protective Services was notified of the incident.
Morgan was charged in connection with the domestic dispute and transported to the Southern Regional Jail.
