LINCOLN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Lincoln County man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he choked, assaulted, and threatened to kill his wife during a violent domestic incident.
According to law enforcement, the victim — identified as Linda Christine Vickers Adkins — reported the alleged abuse on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She told officers her husband, Samuel Adkins, attacked her the night before at a residence on Left Fork in Alkol.
When officers made contact with the victim, they observed visible bruising around her neck, and noted her voice was extremely raspy — consistent with her claims of being choked.
The victim told authorities she attempted to call 911 during the incident while trying to escape and hide inside a building, but was unable to reach emergency services due to lack of internet connectivity. She said the assault left her struggling to speak.
According to the report, the violence continued into the next morning. The victim stated that after waking up, the suspect allegedly struck her with a chair and threatened to kill her if she was not home when he returned from work. She told officers she feared for her life and described the situation as escalating.
The incident occurred in Lincoln County.
Samuel Adkins has been charged with strangulation, domestic battery, and domestic assault.
