HELEN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Drivers are being urged to use caution while traveling on Tams Highway in the Helen area after multiple trees were brought down during recent storms.
According to Coal City Volunteer Fire and EMS, the affected area is along the “Helen Straight Stretch,” where emergency crews responded to remove trees blocking the roadway.
Firefighters and crews from the West Virginia Division of Highways have reopened the road to traffic. However, officials said some trees remain low-hanging over the roadway, creating a potential hazard for motorists.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and remain alert while traveling through the area as cleanup efforts continue. No injuries or additional road closures were reported.
