CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – In a recent traffic stop conducted by an officer from the Charles Town Police Department on WV Route 51, a significant amount of drugs and cash were seized.
The incident took place on July 1st when the officer pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic violation.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer immediately noticed the distinct odor of marijuana emanating from inside. Acting on this suspicion, a probable cause search was carried out, leading to the discovery of approximately 19 pounds of suspected marijuana and a substantial sum of currency.
Charges were filed against two individuals involved in the incident.
Javonte Frazier Lyle, a 35-year-old resident of Orlando, Florida, was charged with the felony offense of conspiracy, along with the misdemeanor offense of possession of a controlled substance. Lyle is currently out on bond.
Maron Lynn Woods III, a 24-year-old from Tacoma, Washington, faced charges of felony possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, as well as a misdemeanor speeding offense. He is currently at Eastern Regional Jail on a $19,000 cash-only bond.
