PRATT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man was arrested after he activated the emergency siren at a fire department.
According to a criminal complaint, on May 26, 2024, law enforcement and several residents of Pratt heard the siren at the Pratt Volunteer Fire Department (PVFD) go off for several minutes.
An officer went to investigate as the area had just witnessed severe storms.
The officer discovered no one at the PVFD and then began to drive around town and discovered 35-year-old Spencer Gore of Pratt.
The officer then asked Gore if he had activated the siren and from there, Gore did not answer the question.
The complaint further states that the officer went back to the PVFD to review camera footage.
Surveillance footage revealed that Gore “casually” walked up Center Street and turned onto Campbell Avenue and then pushed the emergency siren button, then walked away.
According to the complaint, several residents were concerned due to the storms that had just passed through.
He was then arrested and charged with making a false alarm.
Gore is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $1,000 bond.
