SANDSTONE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Summers County man was arrested Tuesday following a domestic violence investigation that left a woman with visible injuries.
Deputies responded around 4:56 p.m. on April 14, 2026, to a 911 call reporting a possible domestic incident at a residence in Sandstone.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who told deputies that Ryan Fox had struck her in the eye with his fist the night before and prevented her from leaving. She further alleged that Fox continued the assault the following day by kicking her.
Authorities observed visible injuries on the victim, including a bruised eye, redness, and bruising on her legs.
Deputies then spoke with Fox, who reportedly provided inconsistent statements during questioning. Based on the victim’s injuries and the investigation at the scene, Fox was taken into custody.
He was transported to Southern Regional Jail, where he is awaiting arraignment.
Officials say the two individuals were living together and had been in an intimate relationship prior to the incident.
The case is being handled under West Virginia’s domestic battery statute.
