LEWIS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Lewis County man was arrested after deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint involving allegations of threats, aggressive behavior, and an injured dog at a Weston-area residence.
According to the report, officers responded around 1:55 p.m. on May 16, 2026, to a home on Right Freemans Creek Road after receiving a domestic violence call through Lewis County 911.
When deputies arrived, they learned all parties involved were still on the property but had separated.
The complainant said Paul Beer was “coming down off drugs” and acting highly irritable.
The victim and his live-in partner told officers that Paul Beer entered the home angry after being awakened by a dog. According to the complaint, Paul Beer allegedly began yelling, slamming items around the kitchen, kicking boxes, and threatening to harm animals inside the residence.
The victim further alleged that his father pushed him during the altercation, causing chili to spill onto the floor. Deputies reported observing chili on the floor along with boxes scattered throughout the kitchen, which they said was consistent with the statements provided.
Both victims told deputies they feared bodily injury because of the defendant’s behavior.
Another witness also alleged that Paul Beer punched her German Shepherd dog, causing the animal’s toenail to catch on a door frame and break.
Deputies later located Paul Beer inside a camper behind the residence. According to the report, Beer denied the allegations and claimed: “nothing happened.”
Paul Beer was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault and one count of domestic battery.
