CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – During the overnight and early morning hours on Friday, several unlocked vehicles were unlawfully entered on the east side of Charles Town. In at least two of these incidents, items were stolen.
The victim in one of these incidents provided valuable information, which led to the identity and location of the suspect. The suspect was subsequently located at a residence in the 300 block of East Liberty Street and taken into custody without incident.
Items that were reported stolen were also recovered by investigating officers.
Robert Wayne Lawson, age 42, of Frederick, MD and currently residing in Charles Town, WV was arrested and charged with three counts of B&E auto, two counts of petit larceny, and two counts of transferring and receiving stolen property. Mr. Lawson is currently incarcerated at the Eastern Regional Jail on a $2,500 bond.
