DUNBAR, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after he brought a gun inside a Kanawha County bar threatening to kill another man and then drug a female with his vehicle.
According to a criminal complaint, on Friday, May 12, 2023, at approximately 10:07 PM, police were dispatched to the Coke Spot on Washington St. West, Dunbar, in Dunbar in regards to an active disturbance between a male and female.
Officers were advised that the male had dragged the female with his vehicle. Officers arrived on the scene and went inside to speak with the female.
Officers then spoke with multiple witnesses that worked at the Cold Spot. Witnesses stated they observed the male come inside the bar and pull out a rifle-style gun and threaten to kill a man at the bar.
Witnesses also stated the male suspect and the female victim then exited the bar and observed them to be in a verbal argument. Witnesses stated they then observed the male suspect dragging the female with his car through the parking lot.
A loaded 22 rifle was located in the backseat of the suspect’s vehicle. When questioned, the victim stated she did not remember the incident. Officers said they physically observed the female to be dirty and have black stains on both of her knees.
The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Jacob H. Reed of Cross Lanes. He has been arrested and charged with Domestic Battery.
