RED HOUSE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Putnam County man is facing charges after deputies say he chased a woman during a heated domestic dispute Saturday afternoon.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call of a domestic incident in progress on April 11, 2026, in the area of Fruth Addition Road in Red House.
When officers arrived, the victim had already fled the residence and was later located during a traffic stop near the Eleanor Fire Department. She told deputies she and a witness had called 911 after a confrontation with the suspect, identified as Jason Bounds.
The victim reported that the argument began over an unfinished weed-eating job. She said the situation quickly escalated, prompting her to run from Bounds out of fear he would harm her.
Both the victim and a witness told deputies that Bounds chased her around the yard while yelling. She eventually fled toward the edge of the road and a nearby ditch line to escape.
The victim also told deputies there was a history of domestic issues and said she never knows when situations may turn physical.
Deputies later made contact with Bounds at the residence, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Bounds has been charged with Domestic Assault. The case remains under investigation.
