SISSONVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Jackson County man has been arrested after being observed cutting and stealing active phone lines near a Kanawha County eatery.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at around 5:30pm, deputies were contacted regarding an in-progress theft involving phone lines belonging to Frontier Communications.
Reports indicate that a suspect was witnessed by two Frontier Communications employees cutting wire which was part of an active line, causing disruptions in service throughout the area near Skeenie’s Hot Dogs on Sissonville Drive in Charleston, WV.
The suspect in question left the scene driving a maroon Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and was followed by the Frontier Communications employees who were speaking with 911 operators.
The Toyota pickup was located by investigating Deputy B.L. Kay at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Sissonville, WV. The wire in the pickup truck was confirmed to be the property of Frontier Communications. Repair costs for the damages were estimated by Frontier Communications to be approximately $9,000.
As a result of the investigation into the matter, the suspect – identified as Lowell T. Parsons, 42 years old of Kenna, Jackson County – was arrested and charged for one felony count of grand larceny and one felony count of destruction of property.
Parsons was arraigned by a Kanawha County Magistrate and bond was set at $10,000 cash or 10%. Parsons is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.
