RIPLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Ripley man has been arrested following a late-night burglary and assault, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
James Adam Watson was taken into custody after authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a break-in.
Watson allegedly entered a home in the Ripley area, climbed into bed with a woman and her two-year-old grandchild, and sexually assaulted the adult female.
When the victim’s bedroom was vacated, deputies found Watson hiding in the backyard beneath the same bedroom window.
He was arrested and charged with one count of burglary and one count of second-degree sexual assault.
Watson was arraigned in magistrate court but failed to post bond. He is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail.
