BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Bluefield man is facing multiple charges after a series of incidents Monday that began with a disturbance at a gas station and ended with the discovery of a loaded “ghost gun,” according to police.
Officers responded to the Hot Stop gas station on Bland Street on April 6, 2026, after the owner requested that a man, later identified as Tyquan Worth, be trespassed from the property due to intoxicated and disruptive behavior.
Police located Worth nearby inside a neighboring business and described him as incoherent, with slurred speech and behavior consistent with being under the influence. He was escorted back to the gas station, served a trespass notice, and instructed to return home with his mother.
Shortly after, officers were called again—this time to Worth’s residence on Eldridge Street—after his mother reported he was threatening her. When officers arrived, Worth briefly went inside the home before exiting through a side door and fleeing on foot.
Officers pursued Worth through nearby properties and eventually took him into custody. He was arrested for public intoxication after failing to comply with prior instructions to remain at home.
During a search at the police station, officers discovered a loaded handgun concealed in Worth’s underwear. The firearm was identified as a “ghost gun,” meaning it had no serial number and could not be traced. The weapon was seized as evidence.
While in custody, Worth complained of wrist pain and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Police say he continued to act disorderly, yelling and cursing at staff despite multiple warnings. After being discharged, Worth allegedly resisted officers and had to be restrained with assistance from hospital security.
During the struggle, police say Worth struck a security guard in the face, causing minor injuries.
Worth was later transported to the Bluefield City Jail, where he was placed in isolation due to his behavior.
He is now facing multiple charges, including public intoxication, fleeing on foot, obstructing an officer, battery, disorderly conduct, and weapons-related offenses. The investigation remains ongoing.
