WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was taken into custody following an altercation where he forcefully grabbed a victim by the throat and made threats to harm both her and himself.
Wyoming County Deputies responded to a call on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at a residence in the Ravencliff area regarding a domestic disturbance. The victim reported that Barrett Johnson engaged in a heated argument with her, which escalated into a physical confrontation.
Johnson reportedly seized the victim by the throat as she attempted to exit the premises. In response to her intention to contact emergency services, Johnson menacingly declared his intent to use a firearm against both her and himself. Deputies noted that two children were present during the distressing incident.
Johnson confessed to consuming alcohol before the altercation, as revealed during his interaction with law enforcement officials.
