CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after hitting his girlfriend multiple times during an argument.
According to a criminal complaint, on February 12, 2023, an officer with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in the Crestlyn Drive area of Charleston after a domestic battery call.
After the officer arrived on the scene, he was met by the victim who stated to the officer that her boyfriend, 22-year-old James Myers had struck her in the face multiple times after a verbal argument over “childcare issues.”
The victim further stated that she was in the bedroom of the residence, Myers walked in and began arguing with her.
The complaint further states that the victim said that during the argument, Myers began striking the victim in the head multiple times with a closed fist. The victim then picked up her child and ran out of the residence in an attempt to escape Myers.
Myers then followed the victim to the front porch and continued to strike the victim in the head. The victim was eventually able to get away from Myers and flee to a neighboring residence to call the police.
Myers had already been previously convicted of domestic battery in December 2021, he was then subsequently charged with domestic battery 2nd offense. Myers is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $1,000 bond.
