CALDWELL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The violation of a Domestic Violence Protective order and subsequent threat of violence with a weapon has led to the arrest of a Greenbrier County man.
Corporal D.L. Vaught of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday, February 27, 2023, at approximately 11:59am, Corporal Vaught was dispatched by Greenbrier County 911 to 185 Second Street in Caldwell regarding threats which had been made along with a potential DVP violation.
Arriving on the scene, Corporal Vaught engaged Mrs. Nancy Holliday, who advised that she had just left the Greenbrier County Magistrate Court where she had obtained a DVP on her son Shane Holliday.
When she arrived back at her residence in Caldwell, her son Shane began knocking on the front door and attempting to enter the home. He then kicked in the front door to gain entry to the residence, went to the refrigerator, and got himself something to eat before leaving the residence.
Mrs. Holliday says she went to the front porch where she was met by her son, who would not allow her to leave. She further stated that the was afraid at this point.
Shane Holliday then told his mother that she needed to drop the aforementioned protective order before grabbing a pipe and telling his father Mr. Wayne Holliday that he was “going to kill him.” Holliday says that, at this point, his son dropped the pipe and entered his camper.
Mr. Wayne Holliday advised that at that time he entered the residence, along with his wife, to await law enforcement.
Reports note that the son, Shane Holliday, had yet to be served with the DVP at the time law enforcement arrived on the scene.
Based on an investigation into the incident, Shane Holliday is being charged with Domestic Assault, Domestic Battery, and Destruction of Property.
