RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On February 12, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office assisted in a vehicle pursuit that originated in Wyoming County.
The pursuit entered Raleigh County and made it as far as Lester when the suspect’s vehicle turned around and returned to Wyoming County. The suspect later wrecked and fled on foot near the Measle Fork Road area of Wyoming County. Law enforcement was not able to locate the suspect at that time.
At around 6:00 a.m. on February 13, 2023, deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a subject matching the driver’s description walking along Lester Hwy.
When deputies made contact, the suspect ran, and after a search of the area, he was taken into custody.
The suspect, Tremaine Burks, was charged in Raleigh County with Fleeing on foot and Fleeing with reckless indifference.
