HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after punching an employee at St. Mary’s Hospital and then attempting to punch an officer.
According to a criminal complaint, on April 30 at approximately 3:05 AM, officers were dispatched to the St. Mary’s Emergency Room located at 2900 1st Avenue for what was described as a man assaulting people.
Once officers arrived they discovered 32-year-old Joshua Sexton detained and in the waiting room. He was escorted outside and told to leave.
While officers were questioning him about where his residence was he walked aggressively toward them with clenched fists and appeared to be trying to walk back into the ER.
Officers backed up several steps but Sexton kept approaching them. An officer then pushed against him and grabbed his right arm as it was lifted toward the officer’s face as he attempted to punch the officer.
Before officers arrived on scene he punched an employee of St. Mary’s Hospital in the face and grabbed him by the neck with his hands while in the ER.
Sexton was taken into custody and charged with Assault on a Government Representative. He is currently out on bond.
