According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at approximately 1:26 PM, authorities responded to a domestic disturbance with injuries at a residence on Derricks Creek Road.
The complaint involved an altercation between a woman and her now ex-boyfriend, 54-year-old Tony Matteson.
According to the complaint, the victim had a visible knot on the back of her head when they arrived. She reported that the incident began when she told Matteson she was breaking up with him and he came to collect his belongings.
An argument ensued over Matteson’s biker jacket, which the victim had withheld until he repaid $350 for a cell phone bill.

Photographic evidence of a fired casing and a bullet mark on the asphalt was collected at the scene. The pavement damage was consistent with the victim’s account of the incident.
After the shooting, Matteson continued to gather his belongings.
