POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A domestic disturbance call in Mason County turned confrontational Friday evening when a man resisted officers attempting to detain him.
On July 11, officers responded to Jefferson Blvd. in Point Pleasant following reports of an active domestic altercation. Upon arrival, officers observed Jasper Pearson shouting aggressively at two other men outside the residence.
When officers attempted to detain Pearson to investigate the situation, he became combative, tensing up and pulling away as they tried to handcuff him. Despite multiple commands to stop resisting, Pearson continued to struggle.
After a brief scuffle, officers were able to secure him in handcuffs. Pearson was then placed under arrest for Obstructing an Officer.
