OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man was arrested Saturday after deputies say he returned to a residence twice despite being warned to leave and not come back.
According to a report from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Cpl. N.G. Burgess was first dispatched on February 7, 2026, to a home on Patterson Avenue in Oak Hill for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy found a man on the front porch playing music. The man identified himself as Zane Daniel and told the deputy he was there because he had nowhere else to go.
The homeowner told authorities the man had been on the property for about 20 minutes and refused to leave. Deputies noted that no-trespassing signs were posted on the fence. Daniel was instructed to leave the property and not return. The deputy remained in the area until he had left.
Minutes later, deputies were called back to the same address after the man reportedly returned. The caller told authorities he came back onto the porch and again refused to leave until she threatened to call 911, at which point he walked away.
Deputies located Daniel on a nearby street a short time later. After speaking with him, he was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for processing and arraignment.
