UPSHUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after setting multiple fires inside his father’s home in an attempt to burn it down with his father and brother inside.
According to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded to 1480 Murphy Station Road in Upshur County on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, for a 911 call of Samuel Edgar Jones starting multiple fires in his father’s house in an attempt to burn it down with his father and brother inside the home.
Family members had to put out the fires after Samuel Jones continued to set fires in different locations inside the home.
Deputies located and arrested Mr. Jones for Attempted Arson and Domestic Assault 2 counts.
Jones is currently at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office thanked the WV State Police Buckhannon and Philippi detachments for their assistance.
