KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Kanawha County man has been arrested after slamming his daughter on the concrete and beating her over a broken lightbulb.
According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at approximately 3:15 PM, West Virginia State Troopers responded to an apartment on Thomas Hollow Road in Kanawha County after an incident involving a female and her father, identified as 44-year-old Michael Lee Lowe.
The victim stated that her father Michael lives below her in another apartment and that she had gone down to do laundry at the previously stated apartment as she does not have the means to do so in her own apartment.
As she was leaving, her father Michael Lowe started acting aggressively towards her, yelling about a lightbulb that was broken last week and proceeded to get in her face to intimidate her.
Mr. Lowe then grabbed his daughter and slammed her on the concrete, causing her to hit her head. Mr. Lowe then got on top of her and began punching her repeatedly.
Before troopers arrived, Mr. Lowe fled the scene in a vehicle. After arrival, troopers observed the victim to have visible injuries to her face and head. After talking with the victim’s boyfriend, he stated that he was upstairs when the event downstairs unfolded but he did hear yelling and screaming as well as a loud thud.
Michael Lowe was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault and Battery. He is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
