MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is behind bars after he allegedly stole wall hangers from the Montgomery Bridge construction site and then sold them.
According to a criminal complaint, on around March 24, 2023, 37-year-old Richard Brown along with another man, brought approximately 10,191 pounds of scrap metal to the London Recycle Yard that had been reported stolen from the Montgomery Bridge construction site.
Officers were provided receipts of the transaction and were able to recover four wall hangers that had been stolen from the construction site in March.
Officers were told that the total value of items lost from the construction site was around $20,000 and that the hangers were unique and made specifically for the construction job in Montgomery.
The hangers were believed to be stolen sometime between March 22 and 24.
Richard Brown was arrested and charged with Receiving and Transferring Stolen Goods on April 20, 2023. He was taken to South Central Regional Jail where he remains on a $5,000 bond.
