POWELLTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is in jail after strangling and threatening a woman.
According to State Police, Ernest Huckoby Jr. became verbally aggressive to a woman he lived with. Â The victim says she sent a message to a friend to pick her up and away from the situation.
The victim further told police that Mr. Huckoby has another phone linked to the phone she used in which he saw the message and became furious. Â Mr. Huckoby allegedly came into the bedroom and pulled the victim’s hair, to which her hair was ripping out of her scalp. Â Huckoby then placed both of his hands around the woman’s neck and strangled her. Â A child in the house told Huckoby to leave her alone. Â The victim was able to walk outside, and Huckoby started pushing her while stating, “I’ll kill you, you’re not going anywhere, and I’m not going back to jail.”
A friend drove by and stopped to pick the victim up. Â When the victim got into the vehicle, Huckoby told her he was sorry and not to leave him.
Huckoby is charged with strangulation and domestic battery. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 35,000 dollar bond.
