CHESAPEAKE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after throwing an object at his sister and then pushing and striking an officer in his ribs.
According to a criminal complaint, on Tuesday, April 18, officers were dispatched to 115th Street in Chesapeake in regard to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, police noticed a female sitting on the porch of the residence. Police began to ask the female what was going on, but 58-year-old John Wayne Kinder exited the residence and began screaming at them.
Police attempted to get Kinder calmed down so they could speak with his sister, the female victim. Police instructed Kinder that he would be placed in handcuffs if he did not calm down.
The complaint further stated that Kinder would not calm down and that an officer attempted to place Kinder in handcuffs. Kinder resisted and shoved the officer. The officer then grabbed his arm and grappled him to the ground where Kinder then struck the officer in the ribs.
The officer was able to then place Kinder in handcuffs and place him in a police cruiser.
The officer then went to speak with the female victim who stated that she and Kinder got into a verbal argument that eventually led to Kinder throwing an object that struck her in the face causing a laceration.
Kinder is being charged with Obstructing an Officer, Battery on an Officer, and Domestic Battery. He is currently out on bond.
