PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – According to a criminal complaint, on March 4, 2023, in Princeton Deputies responded to the Sleep Inn Hotel in reference to an intoxicated male who was passed out in the hallway and had urinated on himself.
Upon the Deputy’s arrival, they attempted to speak with the male who had the odor of an intoxicating beverage coming from his person and became belligerent and hostile upon waking up.
The male then attempted to stand up and upon standing up started to fall backward. Deputies attempted to catch the male from falling and advised him to sit down. At that time the male pushed a Deputy and attempted to walk away from them.
Police then grabbed the male’s arm to effect the arrest. The male then began to resist arrest and would not give up his hands. The male was then taken to the ground and was able to be placed under arrest.
The male was identified as Robert Antonio White. White was then placed into my cruiser and transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival at the Sheriff’s Department, a small baggy containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was found in his left hip pocket.
White is being charged with Battery on an Officer, Obstructing, Public Intoxication, and Simple Possession of Marijuana. White was processed and placed in jail to await arraignment. He is currently out on bond.
