POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic violence incident in Mason County resulted in the arrest of Joshua Burke on charges of strangulation.
Authorities responded to a call on Lincoln Ave in Point Pleasant, where they spoke with the victim. The victim reported that Burke had hit her and forcibly held her against a wall, using his forearm and hand to choke her for approximately 4 to 5 minutes before fleeing the scene.
Officers noted visible marks on her neck, corroborating her account. After gathering witness statements, law enforcement tracked Burke to his residence, where he was placed under arrest without incident.
Burke was transported to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department for processing. Authorities urge victims of domestic violence to seek help and report any incidents immediately.
