HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man facing charges after he was walking in the road, spitting a lit cigarette on police, and then exposing himself and urinating on the floor at police headquarters.
On July 3, 2024, around 3:20 PM, officers witnessed Zachary Winters violating city ordinance 371.03 by causing oncoming traffic to slow down to avoid hitting him at 600 10th St, Huntington, Cabell County, WV 25701.
Following this, Huntington Police drove his cruiser into the 600 block of 10th St and approached Winters on foot. Despite repeated commands to stop and identify as a police officer, Winters fled south on 10th St.
Police eventually caught up with Winters in the 1000 Block of 7th Avenue, where they placed him in restraints and conducted a search. During the search, Winters intentionally spat his lit cigarette on the back of the officer’s hand. He was then secured in the back of my cruiser without further trouble.
At the HPD HQ, Winters behaved inappropriately, exposing himself and urinating on the floor in front of officers.
Despite multiple requests to stop being loud and disruptive, Winters refused to comply and now faces charges of disorderly conduct.
