SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after striking a healthcare worker in the mouth at a hospital.
According to a criminal complaint, on August 27, at approximately 5:13 PM, police were dispatched to an assault call at Thomas Hospital in South Charleston.
Upon police arrival, they took the suspect, 39-year-old Dustin Griffy of Marmet, into custody and spoke with him.
Griffy admitted to hitting the female victim in the face with his fist.
The victim told police that she was asking Griffy procedural questions when he then got angry abruptly, ran, and struck her in the mouth.
The victim had a gash on her top lip and bottom lip, according to the complaint.
Griffy was arrested and charged with Battery on a Health Care Provider.
He is currently at South Central Regional Jail on a $1,500 cash-only bond.
