BRAMWELL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Mercer County man is facing serious charges after he spits on police and attempted to flee from police while handcuffed to a chair.
According to the Bramwell Police Chief, on August 27, 2021, Bobby Ray York was observed operating a motorcycle with the name “Beast” on the side and no visible registration on Route 52 and Bluestone Ave. York’s license was revoked to a prior DUI charge. York also had two previous convictions for driving revoked for DUI back in May of 2021 and March of 2017.
While police were attempting to arrest York, he struggled and had to be forcibly handcuffed. Police say he continued to have outbursts of anger and tried to climb between the seats when police opened the car’s rear door. At one point, York spit on the police officer.
