BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An altercation turns violent after a man attacked his father and tried to stab his uncle after he was asked to turn down his music.
A domestic dispute in Danville turned violent on September 29, 2024, when a man allegedly attacked his father and attempted to stab his uncle. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident on Dunlap Street after receiving a report of a domestic altercation.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated that the altercation began when he asked his son, Steven Dancy, to turn down his music. According to Mr. Dancy, Steven became frustrated, started cursing, and then physically attacked him. He reported that his son grabbed him by the throat and punched him multiple times in the face and head.
The situation escalated further when Steven allegedly pulled out a red knife and attempted to stab his uncle. Officers observed scratch marks on the victim’s neck and arm, corroborating his account of the attack. The uncle also confirmed that Steven had brandished a red knife and tried to stab him.
When officers located Steven Dancy, they found a small red knife in his front right pocket. Based on statements from both victims and evidence at the scene, Steven Dancy was taken into custody.
