SURRY COUNTY, NC (LOOTPRESS) – An ongoing dispute between two people leads to one shot and killed.
On June 26, 2023, at approximately 11:16 am, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a shooting. The incident occurred within the 100 block of Green Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina. When patrol deputies arrived, they found Jeffrey Wayne Bowman, 58, of 159 Green Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina, deceased from an apparent crossbow wound.
Deputies located the male caller, later identified as the shooter, on the property of the incident.
Deputies on the scene requested the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Division. Detectives arrived on the scene and started furthering the investigation into the incident.
This investigation is still ongoing and active, but Bobby Darrell Ladd, 47, of 168 Green Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina, has been arrested for the murder of Mr. Bowman.
Initial investigation indicates that an ongoing dispute between the two individuals leads to the altercation on this date. Mr. Ladd appeared in front of a judicial official and received no bond.
