BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)—On two separate occasions, a man was caught shoplifting ice cream in his pants, along with other items.
On May 13, 2024, at approximately 7:21 p.m., Deputy R.B. Dotson of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shoplifting complaint at Dempsey’s Little General Exxon, located at 23541 Spruce River Road in Clothier.
The store manager informed Deputy Dotson that Bittle Halstead, the accused, had just stolen two tubs of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream from the store. According to Bishop, Halstead stuffed the tubs of ice cream, valued at $7.99 each, into his pants and quickly left the premises without attempting to pay.
The total value of the stolen ice cream was $15.98. The incident occurred in the unincorporated community of Ottawa, Boone County.
On May 3, 2024, Halstead was caught on video surveillance at the Par Mar Store on Spruce River Road, concealing four items of food inside his pants and walking out without paying. The cost of those items was around $23.06.
Halstead is charged with shoplifting and shoplifting 2nd offense.
