HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Hinton man faces charges after allegedly choking a woman and then damaging a deputy’s cruiser by bending the metal plates of the vehicle cage.
According to deputies, Mary Yancey allegedly choked a woman after he got mad at her. While speaking to the victim, Yancey started walking towards her and ignored the deputies’ commands.
Deputies arrested Yancey and put him in a deputy’s cruiser. While in the cruiser, he damaged the vehicle’s cage by bending the metal plates, causing around 250 dollars in damage.
Yancey was charged with strangulation, domestic battery, obstructing, and destruction of property. He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail.
