BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Boone County man is facing charges following a domestic disturbance reported Wednesday night in the Quinland area.
According to authorities, deputies responded at approximately 10:49 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2026, to a domestic violence complaint at a residence on Pond Fork Road. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female victim who reported a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, identified as Shane Cook.
The victim told deputies that Cook became aggressive during the argument, made multiple threats of physical harm, and placed her in immediate fear of being injured. She further stated that after the confrontation, Cook went outside and intentionally struck her vehicle—a black 2011 Hyundai Veracruz—causing scrapes and scratches along the front driver-side quarter panel.
Investigators noted the incident occurred at the home of the victim’s father. The victim and Cook reportedly live together at a separate residence on Robinson Lane in Boone County.
Authorities say Cook’s actions unlawfully placed the victim in reasonable fear of injury and resulted in damage to her motor vehicle. The incident remains under investigation, and the charges stem from events that occurred within Boone County.
