PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces serious charges after punching a woman until her spleen ruptured.
According to State Police, on May 3, 2021, the victim went to the WV State Police Princeton Detachment over a previous domestic incident. Â The victim told a trooper that on April 23, 2021, Marline Marrs and she got into an argument. Â Mars got very angry and punched her in the stomach three to four times. Â She fell to the ground and couldn’t get up.
On April 24, 2021, the victim stated that she got out of bed and was in extreme pain, causing her to fall to the floor several times. Â The victim called her mom and stepdad, and they took her to the hospital. Â She was eventually flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she had to undergo two different surgeries. Â Doctors advised the victim that her spleen had ruptured, and if she had waited another hour, she probably would not have lived.
The suspect, Marline Marrs, is charged with malicious assault and domestic battery. Â He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 25,000 dollar bond.
