BELLEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One West Virginia man faces multiple charges after shooting at multiple residences.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 8:48 AM, units were dispatched to the area of 251 Belleville Dr. Wood County, WV in reference to a subject discharging a firearm at residences in that area.
At 9:08 AM, multiple units began arriving in the area.
Deputy R.C. Frazier made contact with the suspect, identified as Albert Eugene Adkins Jr. 54 of Belleville, WV.
Adkins was armed with a long gun and handgun when sheriff deputies arrived. Adkins was taken into custody at 9:11 AM without further incident.
Upon investigation by units on scene along with obtaining witness and victim statements, it was found that Adkins had intentionally discharged a firearm at 2 of his neighbors both of which were outside of their home at the time.
Adkins was transported to the Wood County Holding Center where he was charged with 2 counts of attempted 1st degree murder, 2 counts of attempted malicious/unlawful assault, and 2 counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm.
Adkins was confined and placed on a $250,000 bond having been arraigned by Wood County Magistrate Joe Kuhl.
