KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 21-year-old South Charleston man has been charged following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Kanawha County that left a teenage passenger seriously injured.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Trooper A.C. Walters responded to the crash on Pennsylvania Avenue near the community of Pinch on Feb. 14, 2026. When he arrived, he found a passenger vehicle overturned on its roof.
Investigators said a 19-year-old female passenger had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was transported to CAMC General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers identified the driver as Brett Mullins, 21, of South Charleston. Following an investigation at the scene, Trooper Walters developed probable cause to charge Mullins with Driving Under the Influence Causing Injury, along with additional traffic-related offenses.
Mullins was taken to the South-Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
State police said speed and alcohol are believed to have contributed to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
