BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office would again like to highlight the great work by Cpl. B.J. Adkins.
On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Cpl. Adkins was dispatched to a burglar alarm at Mountain State Equipment 508 N. Eisenhower Dr., Beckley, WV. As he arrived on the scene, Adkins noticed a male subject walking across the parking lot at the adjacent business carrying a box.
Adkins attempted to make contact with the male, at which time he attempted to flee on foot. The male subject, later identified as Steven E. Jones, was apprehended a short time later.
Jones was charged with Breaking & Entering, Grand Larceny, Felony Destruction of Property, Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer on Foot, and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer. He was taken to Southern Regional Jail pending arraignment.
