GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was indicted after allegedly transporting a minor to West Virginia to engage in prostitution.
According to an indictment, a Grand Jury indicted Richard Shawn Owens on two counts. The first count of the indictment claims that from May 15 through May 16, Owens knowingly enticed, harbored, transported, and solicited a minor under 18 to engage in a commercial sex act.
The second count says that Owens transported the minor from Charlottesville, Virginia, to Lewisburg, West Virginia, with intent to engage in prostitution of the child.
In a separate indictment, Owens knowingly possessed six firearms and had prior convictions of assault and battery of a family member in Chesterfield, Virginia.
Owen will have his initial appearance and arrangement hearing on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11 a.m.
