MARSHALL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man was pistol-whipped and robbed in his own home during a violent early morning home invasion on Saturday, July 5, 2025. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has identified three suspects in connection to the crime, including one with a known criminal history.
At approximately 8:04 a.m., Ryan Blake and his brother, Thomas Blake, arrived at the police station to report the assault and robbery. Ryan, who appeared with a bruised and swollen eye and a reopened burn injury on his leg, told officers that he had been attacked around 6:30 a.m. at his residence on Myrtle Avenue by Chaz Suarez, Jesse James Thompson, and Stormy Hawkins.
According to Blake, the incident began hours earlier when Hawkins contacted him via Facebook Messenger around 3:20 a.m., asking to come over. After briefly visiting, she returned again around 6:30 a.m., at which point Blake fell asleep in his bedroom. Moments later, he was jolted awake by being struck in the face with a firearm and blinded by a flashlight. One of the men demanded, “Give me everything.”
The suspects accessed a safe in the bedroom, stealing four handguns (a Smith & Wesson .45, two Taurus 9mms, and two Ruger .380s), along with property documents and Blake’s Samsung Galaxy A20 smartphone. The safe reportedly also contained about $1,000 in cash, which was left untouched.
Blake told officers he had met Hawkins only a few weeks prior and this was her first time at his residence. He said their relationship was strictly platonic.
Surveillance footage confirmed much of Blake’s account. Hawkins was seen arriving at 3:37 a.m., leaving shortly after, and returning again at 6:28 a.m. in a white van with blue markings. Around 7:03 a.m., two males—identified as Suarez and Thompson—approached the residence. Suarez was seen pulling a gaiter over his face before both suspects entered the home.
Yelling was heard minutes later on camera. At 7:08 a.m., the trio exited the home with Suarez visibly carrying a firearm in his waistband. Blake exited shortly after, appearing to carry a firearm himself.
Inside the residence, officers recovered clothing and sunglasses belonging to Hawkins. Video evidence showed the same items on her during her earlier arrival.
Suarez, who has reportedly been involved in a past stabbing incident in Cameron, WV, was identified by Blake as the one who pistol-whipped him. Blake estimated the value of the stolen items at approximately $2,000.
