Court documents state that on September 24, 2024, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at a residence on 7th Street in Huntington.
During the search, officers found approximately 211 grams of fentanyl, 484 grams of methamphetamine, 12 grams of crack cocaine, and a loaded stolen SCCY 9mm pistol.
Hawkins admitted to storing and possessing the drugs with the intent to distribute them for profit, and to possessing the stolen firearm to protect both the narcotics and the proceeds from their sale.
As part of his guilty plea, Hawkins also admitted to additional criminal activity. On July 22, 2024, he was found with fentanyl and crack cocaine during a traffic stop in Huntington.
He also sold approximately 58 grams of methamphetamine and 7.15 grams of fentanyl during multiple transactions between August and September 2024.
During one of those fentanyl sales, he received the SCCY pistol in exchange for drugs.
Hawkins is scheduled for sentencing on November 3, 2025. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 40 years in prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million.
The case was investigated by the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Courtney L. Finney is prosecuting the case, which is part of Operation Synthetic Opioid Surge (SOS) and Operation Take Back America—federal initiatives aimed at reducing the supply of synthetic opioids and dismantling transnational criminal organizations.
