CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man who has already been banned from CAMC has been arrested for returning to the property and threatening to blow up the hospital.
According to a criminal complaint, on August 20, 57-year-old David Martin Stevens was encountered by officers on a trespassing complaint located at CAMC in Charleston.
During the investigation, it was determined the defendant was found to be trespassing due to his being previously banned from the property by officers and staff.
At this time, officers went outside to retrieve a ticket book from a cruiser as a summons was going to be issued for the trespassing offense. As officers were at their cruisers, CAMC Security stood by with the defendant.
During this time, the defendant allegedly made a statement to security stating “he was going to make a bomb and blow this place up”. The defendant initially stated he did not make a statement to security.
According to the complaint, after being read his Miranda Rights and wishing to speak with officers, the defendant admitted to saying “something like that” regarding the accused allegation while at the station.
David Martin Stevens has been charged with making terroristic threats. He is currently out on bond.
