BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The subject of a search warrant was arrested Wednesday after leading police on a foot-chase in the Beckley Plaza area.
Sheriff J.C. Canaday of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, the Beckley Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, with assistance from the Beckley Police Department and Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team executed a search warrant at an apartment on Beckwoods Drive in Beckley.
The search resulted in the discovery of 881 grams of methamphetamine, 429 grams of marijuana, 24 grams of fentanyl, and $3,245 in suspected proceeds from drug distribution. Davon Jamir Linder – 23 of Akron, Ohio – was the subject of the investigation which led to the search.
Sheriff Canaday reports that at approximately the same time the search was being conducted, Linder was arrested by the Beckley Police Department following a foot pursuit near the location of the Beckley Staples at Beckley Plaza for an unrelated parole violation.
As he was running from authorities, Linder jumped over a guardrail and into the large drainage canal in the area, requiring the Beckley Fire Department to facilitate his rescue.
