HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Columbus, Ohio, man has been sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm.
Douglas Lee Brown, 56, also known as “Wiggles,” received the 18-month sentence on November 17, 2025. He will also serve three years of supervised release.
According to court documents, Brown was arrested on April 18, 2024, in Huntington on warrants for domestic battery and wanton endangerment.
During the arrest, officers found a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm pistol in his waistband. The firearm had been reported stolen.
Federal prosecutors said Brown was barred from possessing any firearm because of a prior felony conviction for burglary in Franklin County, Ohio, on November 15, 2012. He was still under supervision for that conviction at the time of the offense.
U.S. Attorney Moore Capito announced the sentence and commended the work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Huntington Police Department, and the Huntington Violent Crime and Drug Task Force.
U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers handed down the sentence, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Courtney L. Finney prosecuted the case.
The prosecution was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through coordinated enforcement and community partnerships.
