PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A violent altercation at a Princeton residence left one man hospitalized with multiple stab wounds and one person arrested.
According to law enforcement reports, the victim was at his home, along with a witness, when an argument erupted with a visitor, later identified as Thomas Jones. What began as a verbal dispute quickly escalated into violence.
The victim told investigators that during the argument, Jones pulled a knife from his pocket and advanced toward him in a threatening manner. He said he initially managed to knock the knife from Jones’s hand — but Jones retrieved the weapon and stabbed him in the lower leg. The confrontation continued as Jones allegedly punched the victim, shoved him against a wall, and stabbed him a second time, this time in the abdomen.
The witness reportedly intervened, breaking up the altercation, after which Jones fled the scene on foot.
Emergency services responded to a 911 call and transported the victim to Princeton Hospital, where he was treated for two stab wounds consistent with a knife attack, according to state troopers.
Police arrested Thomas Jones for assault and battery as well as malicious wounding, citing the deliberate and violent nature of the attack.
