MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man kicks in the door, threatens to set the house on fire, and threatens to kill a woman because he doesn’t want another man inside the home.
On Friday, August 16, 2024, Deputy J.P. Conner and Deputies A.M. Presley, M.C. Altice, and Lt. W.E. Rose responded to a domestic disturbance in Princeton, Mercer County. A victim reported to Mercer E-911 that Daniel Dickerson had kicked in the door and threatened to set the house on fire. She also noted that Dickerson appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
Upon arrival, one deputy spoke with the victim, who informed him that Dickerson had already left the scene. Dickerson then emerged from behind some bushes at the edge of the property and approached the deputies. He claimed that Dillon was allowing another man to stay at their home. Dickerson mentioned that he was unhappy about this arrangement and had told the other man to leave before stepping outside, where he said the screen door broke due to recent renovations.
The victim provided a written statement detailing how Dickerson had threatened to kill her and made accusations about her being with other men. She described an incident where Dickerson kicked the front door, struck another woman in the house, and pulled a clump of hair out of the victim’s head while verbally abusing her.
Another witness also submitted a written account, stating that she woke up when the door hit her leg and witnessed Dickerson yelling at the victim.
Photos were taken of the scene, including the hair that Dickerson had pulled from the victim’s head. Dickerson was arrested for Domestic Battery and taken to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department for processing, then transported to Southern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment.
