HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Huntington man faces multiple charges stemming from a verbal altercation which occurred last month.
According to Cabell County Magistrate Court documents, at approximately 12:15am on Thursday, October 23, 2023, a female victim reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend, the suspect in this incident, identified as Edward Crawford, 36 years old of Huntington, WV.
The victim advised authorities that Crawford got in her face and began to scream at her because he didn’t not like what she said to him.
The victim reports that Crawford began to strangle her and hold her down against the bed by her arms, at which point she yelled for help from her roommate for assistance and Crawford departed the residence, taking with him the wallet and keys of the victim.
It has since been advised by the victim that, following the reporting of the incident to law enforcement, Crawford has called the roommate of the victim and made threats to “shoot up” the residence.
A warrant was issued for Crawford’s arrest, and he was detained and transported to Western Regional Jail on Wednesday.
