TEAYS VALLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS)— A traffic stop in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 16, 2025, led to a string of charges against a Putnam County man after deputies say he was driving impaired, carrying drugs, and threatening law enforcement.
According to Deputy B.M. Hodges, a grey Volkswagen Jetta was spotted around 12:01 a.m. on State Route 34 near Teays Valley Baptist Church, swerving across lanes, nearly striking sidewalks, and traveling without headlights or taillights at 55 miles per hour. The driver, identified as Micah Nashon Jackson, allegedly reversed toward the deputy’s cruiser after being pulled over near the Truist Bank.
Deputies reported smelling alcohol and marijuana coming from the vehicle and noted Jackson showed signs of impairment, including slurred speech, drowsiness, and bloodshot eyes. Field sobriety tests indicated he was too impaired to drive, and a preliminary breath test showed a 0.127 blood alcohol content.
Jackson, whose license was revoked for unpaid citations, also produced an expired insurance card and had marijuana in his pockets. A search of the vehicle uncovered a mason jar containing 16.3 grams of marijuana.
While being transported for processing, deputies say Jackson threatened to “track down” the officer, “throw hands,” and “clown” him at his home. A second breath test at the courthouse registered 0.119 BAC.
Jackson now faces multiple charges, including Driving Under the Influence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While License Suspended, No Insurance, Expired MVI, and Terroristic Threats.
